(SLS) Selective Laser Sintering Prototype PartsSLS prototype parts are similar to SLA prototype parts. The 3D CAD model is sliced into thin cross-sections or layers. The SLS technology uses an infrared laser to sinter the layers together in a variety of thermoplastic and metal powders. Models can be produced from flexible plastics as well as rigid ones. The key advantage of the SLS technology is its ability to rapidly produce durable, functional objects for a wide variety of applications, where finish is not a concern. SLS prototypes can be sterilized via an autoclave and work great for thermoform prototype tooling. The SLS technology can hold tolerances of +/- 0.005 of an inch and produce features as small as 0.020 of an inch.

  • Level 1 cleanup build support removal on all part surfaces
  • Level 2 cleanup slice line and resolution removal on specified surfaces (normally) outside surfaces, inside and/or underside surfaces have a basic Level 1 cleanup.
  • Level 2 cleanup for Painting purposes consists of slice line and resolution removal on specified surfaces (normally) outside surfaces, inside and/or underside surfaces have a basic Level 1 cleanup, outside surfaces are primered for painting.
